NPDCL becomes first Telangana power utility to earn dual ISO certifications for quality & safety excellence

Hyderabad, Oct 28 (UNI) The Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (NPDCL) has been conferred with two prestigious ISO certifications in recognition of its excellence in quality management and occupational safety standards.
The certificates were formally presented to the NPDCL Chairman and Managing Director K Varun Reddy at a ceremony graced by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
NPDCL received the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificate for maintaining exceptional standards in power distribution operations, substation management, and substation construction.
The company was also awarded the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Certificate for its continuous initiatives to safeguard employee well-being and its strict enforcement of safety regulations.
Officials noted that the company’s proactive efforts through initiatives such as Palle Bata and Pattana Bata have strengthened workplace safety practices and improved operational efficiency.
The certifications were issued by HYM International Certification Private Limited. With this achievement, NPDCL has become the first power utility in Telangana to earn both ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications — marking a milestone in the State’s power sector for operational excellence, safety, and best workplace practices, a statement said on Tuesday.
